(Tampa, August 8, 2003)

The Louis de la Parte FLorida Mental Health Institute Research Library will host a traveling art exhibit showcasing accomplished artists during the month of October as a part of ADA Art Fest 2003. In addition to celebrating the artistic abilities of people with disabilities, ADA Art Fest 2003 is a celebration of the 13th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, a law often referred to as civil rights legislation for the disabled.

VSA arts of Florida, a nonprofit organization that provides opportunities for artists with disabilities, chose eleven clients to display their paintings, mosaics and photographs at the celebration.

The de la Parte Institute Research Library has on permanent display works created by persons with disabilities, including stained glass, paintings, and sculpture.

For more information about the program, see VSA arts [http://www.vsarts.org/], an international nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities through the arts for people with disabilities or contact Sandra Sroka (Hillsborough ADA liaison) at (813) 276-2742, or Marian Winters (VSA arts) at (813) 558-5095.
