Concentration in Behavioral Healthcare within the B. S. in Applied Science

Behavioral health problems, including mental illness and substance abuse, are among the greatest public health challenges facing our communities. Students enrolling in the Behavioral Healthcare concentration within the B.S. In Applied Science will be exposed to treatment approaches as well as to issues related to the organization, financing, delivery, and outcomes of behavioral health services. Combining academic and experiential learning, the concentration provides students with information and practical experience in behavioral healthcare services.

The concentration in Behavioral Healthcare requires 18 semester credit hours (12 hours required and 6 elective credits) in addition to the requirements of the B.S. in Applied Science. The B.S.A.S. is designed for students transferring to USF with a completed A.S. degree from a Florida Community College.
